Krisztina Arato is full professor of political science in Budapest.
She studied history at ELTE University in Budapest and political science at the Victoria University of Manchester, England. She wrote her Ph.D dissertation on the social dialogue system of the European Union at Corvinus University, Budapest. She was the president of the Hungarian Political Science Association 2015-2021.
She was a Jean Monnet Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre (EUI, Florence, Italy) in 2023/24, currently Jean Monnet Chair.
She contributes to the evaluation of research proposals at the European Research Council. She was elected as the Speaker of the Council at the European Consortium of Political Research in 2025. She obtained her business coach degree at ELTE University, Faculty of Education and Psychology in 2023.
As a professor she worked with dozens of graduate students and Ph.D candidates supporting them in their academic work and their career development. As a university leader she has experience in leadership, strategy-building and internationalization.
